The 2nd Quarter of 2023 demonstrates that the Commonwealth remains below the pre-COVID eviction filings and judgments. At the same time, rents continue to rise, with approximately half of Virginian’s surveyed seeing their rent increase over the last twelve months. While  it appears that we have begun to move away from the 2019 benchmark, this report  includes the median amounts owed and the percent of tenants with legal representation statewide.
